Promote your art gallery, but save your money

If you have your own art website getting noticed can be a challenge. But it is not impossible, not does it have to cost money to be visible on the internet. Here are a couple of things you can do to promote your artist web site, online gallery or art school services without spending a cent:

• Add your website to each of the free art directories listed at Artists in Oils
• If you don't mind having other links on your site choose reciprocal links art directories

Some other good things to do which are also free are:

• ofer your web updates as RSS feeds to people who visit - try feedburner for this
• start a blog - only if you are willing to work at keeping it up - try blogger for this
• do a press release for free at PRLOG

These things all help to make your work more visible on the web. Remember you still have to get people looking for you in the first place ! Don't forget to attend shows and participate in events...these are and always will be crucial to your success.
